Building Thriving Neighbourhoods

North West Business Insider invited us to take part in their recent round table discussion around how developers, local authorities, funders and property professionals can shape thriving and inclusive communities across the region.

Shannon kicked off the responses with: “I’ll start with the basics. For me, there are two fundamentals. First, civic pride. People need to be proud of where they live. That can come from history, culture, music venues, theatres, sport – something everyone can relate to and feel ownership of.

“Second, and most important, is safety. People need to feel safe walking or wheeling around, and the place needs to be inclusive, with consideration of how public realm can work for everyone.”
